Green Lighting GmbH was founded in June 2009 by Alexander Korsch. Alexander Korsch is the sole shareholder and managing director. The company headquarters is in Blankenfelde-Mahlow on the southern outskirts of Berlin and a 400 square meter hall was rented for production in the Dabendorf district of the city of Zossen.
Green Lighting develops, sells and installs tubular daylight systems, which are also known as light tubes, light chimneys or solatube. Cooperation partner in the end customer business is the company Lightway s.r.o. from Prague. With Lightway, the groundbreaking and patented technology BLUEperformance was developed in 2009. BLUEperformance guarantees users of daylight tubes that no condensation or condensation occurs in the winter months. At the same time, the daylight tube is thermally separated by this technology. Alexander Korsch had the idea for this and with Lightway the product was brought to series production. This technology is a milestone in the development of daylight control. As the only manufacturer in the world, it has succeeded in integrating the daylight tubes into the roofs in an optimized way in terms of building physics - without heat loss or entry and without thermal bridges.
In the mid-2010s, there was an increasing number of inquiries from industry for ecological and energy-saving lighting in very large production and storage halls. This required much larger systems than those previously available on the market. Green Lighting was the first company in the world to develop daylight tubes with a diameter of 1 meter and more. The largest system to date for an office building in London has a diameter of 1500mm. Through close cooperation with neighboring trades, especially roofers, a completely new series was created in 2015 under the name SUNperformance especially for industrial roofs. The systems are produced in four sizes of 600, 800, 1000 and 1200mm. The new series is CE-certified, permanently fall-through-proof and in A1 quality, i.e. non-flammable. The heat transfer coefficient in this series reaches 0.4 W / m²K, which has not been reached before. Thanks to its modular and compact design, solutions can be offered for all requirements. All products are fully assembled and can be installed on the roofs easily and in a short time. There is practically no loss of time for the roof structure.
The next milestone is the development of a combined system of daylight and artificial LED lighting. Another product series was ready for series production in 2017 under the name HYBRIDperformance. This product has been tested to be ball-resistant for the lighting requirements in sports halls. Thanks to daylight-dependent control, it is now possible to deliver the required illuminance at any time of the day or night. Such a lighting system achieves a savings potential of 80% compared to a conventional system. A particular challenge is to configure the LED components to exactly the same light output as the daylight system generates at the location. For this holistic lighting solution, Green Lighting uses satellite data on the true daylight conditions on earth and energetically optimized lighting fixtures. The hybrid lighting is used as a “plug & play” system from the roof side and saves time-consuming lighting installation.
In the last 10 years or more, Green Lighting has consistently developed conventional skylights or skylights and daylight tubes. The focus of further development is on optimizing the incidence of daylight, daylight transport and daylight distribution in the room.
Green Lighting's customers include Lidl, Audi, Volkswagen, Herma or Winterhalder. The municipalities have also become aware of our sports hall solution.
